Postdoctoral Fellows in Israel Studies
The Taub Center for Israel Studies at New York University seeks to award two postdoctoral fellowships beginning in September 2015. One fellowship is directly funded by the Israel Institute (Washington, DC) and the other by the Taub Center. Both fellowships will be held at the Taub Center at NYU. The terms of the two fellowships are identical:
The Postdoctoral Fellows in Israel Studies will be appointed for a one year term, with the option of renewal for a second year. Candidates may work in the fields of History, Political Science or Sociology as they apply to Israel. Fellows are expected to teach one undergraduate course each year of their tenure at NYU. PhD must be in hand by September 1, 2015 with no exceptions, and may not have been received before September 2012. An annual fellowship of $48,000 each will be awarded to the successful candidates. Additional research funds totaling $3,000 each year per fellow will also be allocated at the discretion of the Israel Institute and Taub Center. Fellows hold appointments in the Skirball Department of Hebrew and Judaic Studies and work closely with colleagues in their disciplinary specialization if appropriate. Fluency in Hebrew is required.
