The School wishes to appoint an inspiring teacher and enthusiastic individual to advance high quality scholarship about Israel. You will have a PhD in a field central to Israel studies, a good working knowledge of modern Hebrew and a deep interest in the wider Middle East. You will teach a wide range of courses related to the subject, including existing courses on the Israel-Palestine conflict. The ability to lecture students from a wide range of backgrounds is paramount.

You will be research active and will contribute to the Department’s ability to obtain top research recognition in the REF of 2014. You will supervise postgraduate and doctoral students and act as the convenor for the MA in Israel Studies. You will be expected to take on leading departmental and relevant administrative responsibilities as well as involvement in the development of the European Association of Israel Studies which is situated at SOAS.
